About

Local, independent, and easy to deal with

Claremonts is a one-person practice, so when you get in touch, you’re talking to the person who will actually do the work. No call centres, no handovers, and no jargon.I help homeowners, landlords and estate agents make sense of energy efficiency rules, from a straightforward EPC to a full plan for bringing a rental property up to the required standard. My advice is practical and focused on what saves you money and keeps you compliant, so you only pay for upgrades that make a difference.

  • Independent advice: No agenda, no pressure to buy anything.

  • Direct and personal: One expert from first enquiry to final report.

  • Straight answers: Complex regulations, explained in plain English.

  • Qualified and accredited: Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor and Level 4 Domestic Retrofit Assessor, accredited by ECMK and TrustMark registered.

I’ve worked in renewables and retrofit, so I know which upgrades genuinely lower bills and which only look good on a quote. When I assess your property, you get a straight answer about what’s worth doing and what isn’t.

How I can help

Energy Performance Certificates

Accurate, hassle-free EPCs for homes being sold or let. Flexible appointments, clear results and no jargon. If you’re an estate agent or landlord with regular instructions, I’m happy to agree a simple arrangement with one point of contact.

OPTIONAL EXTRA

Add a fully digital floorplan to your EPC while I’m already on site, ready for your listing or your records.

Retrofit assessments

Assessments for housing providers, social landlords and businesses delivering energy efficiency improvements, including work funded through the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund or local grants. Carried out in line with PAS 2035.

OPTIONAL EXTRA

A measured digital floorplan to accompany your assessment, useful for planning works and keeping a clear record of the property.

Landlord MEES advice and planning

The rules for rented homes are changing, and the deadline is closer than it looks. The government has confirmed that privately rented homes in England and Wales will need to reach the equivalent of EPC C by 1 October 2030, up from the current minimum of E, with a cap of £10,000 per property on what landlords must spend to get there. Read the government's response here.Knowing where each of your properties stands now makes planning far cheaper than leaving it late. I can help in three stages:

  • Stock assessment. I assess your properties and produce an energy performance report, similar to an EPC but not lodged, showing how far each home is from the new standard.

  • Options for every budget. A clear set of upgrade routes at different price points, so you can choose what suits each property and spread the cost.

  • Delivery support. If you’d like it, I can help manage the improvements, working with vetted or recommended contractors, so you aren’t left coordinating the work yourself.
